Pacific Northwest Petrified Wood – Random Pull Lot This listing features old stock Pacific Northwest petrified wood, mostly Saddle Mountain material, with pieces also from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Northern California. All material comes from older collections, not fresh digs. Sizes: Pieces range from small tumblers up to larger cutter-sized chunks. If you’d like a certain size, you can leave a note at checkout and we’ll try to accommodate, though selection is still random.  Note: If you have a size preference, please leave a note during checkout. ✨ Uses: Great for cabbing, slabbing, tumbling, trimming, display specimens, or aquarium décor. Each stone is a natural fossil wood specimen that has been replaced with agate, jasper, opal, or other silica-rich minerals. Some show wood grain or bark detail, and most display attractive colors and patterns. We cannot sort by specific replacement type for random pulls. Geological Background Ages represented: Primarily Miocene (~16–15 million years), but petrified wood in the Northwest ranges from the Paleozoic through the Cenozoic. Known woods: Species such as oak, sycamore, maple, walnut, redwood, spruce, and ginkgo have all been found petrified in this region. Photos are representative only. Stones are shown wet to highlight color and pattern. Your lot will be randomly selected. ⚠️ Natural Features: As with all petrified wood, some pieces may contain fractures, pits, or inclusions formed during fossilization. These are completely normal and part of the natural character of the material.
